Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
